Imagine if you could go back ten years and meet your younger self - would you recognise her? What advice would you give?
* Wear sunscreen
* Back away from those PVC trousers
* DON`T give that idiot your phone number
* Lemon juice won´t bleach your hair- it just attracts wasps
He´s the one- don´t let him get away
For Charlotte Merryweather, there´s no need to imagine. She´s about to find out for real. With some surprising consequences...
"Who´s that girl" was my first book by Alexandra Potter and I can just say that I absolutely loved it! Therefore, of course, I want to tell you a little bit more about it.
The main character Charlotte Merryweather seems to be living the perfect live with a successful PR company, the perfect boyfriend, designer clothes and a lot more. One day she suddenly meets her younger self, 21-years-old Lottie and and after thinking about her "old" life, Charlotte decides that she wants to help the young girl. She doesn´t want her to make any mistakes, and as Charlotte thinks that she knows the answer to everything she just wants to help her and assist her in any possible situation. Of course, finally it turns out that the "old" and successful Charlotte can still learn something from her younger self, but I am not going to tell you what exactly that is! ;-)
So, in general I have to say that I love Alexandra Potter´s writing style. It is absolutely hilarious and also very fresh and simple. The book is just perfect for one or two afternoons of lying around somewhere and having a few proper laughs. The story itself was very refreshing and new on the one hand, but on the other hand, after reading a bit you could already guess what would happen next. So, that´s a bit of a minus, but I still love the book.
So if you are looking for something sweet and funny to read you should absolutely try "Who´s that girl". It is going to get 5/5 points, just because I loved it so much and especially the heroine Charlotte/ Lottie is so cute that I couldn´t get enough of her.
